The Desert Messenger is proud to be a positive Internet presence for the community of Quartzsite! Editorial BY SHANANA “RAIN” GOLDEN-BEAR “Don’t worry about the world coming to an end today. It’s already tomorrow in Australia.” Charles Schulz There is a new publication debuting in Quartzsite called the “Quartzsite Cri- er”. Publisher/Editor Bob “Nick”erson said, “Laughter is the best medicine” and thought Quartzsite could use a bit of lightheartedness. So watch for his “laugh a minute” publication coming soon to town! By the time this publication hits the streets residents will have voted. Due to press restrictions, residents won’t be able to read the outcome here, however the results will be published in a fl yer at demand distribution loca- tions (fancy name for rack locations). No matter the outcome of the election, it is time for folks to come together and support the council members and the mayor, for the good of the community. Let us show the better side of our town to those who visit and read about us on the Internet, remember- ing why we are here in the fi rst place. There’s something special about this town, otherwise we would not call it our home (or winter home). Let every decision made be mindful of the next 7 generations.
