John graduated from Michigan State University with an engineering degree and later earned his Masters of Business Administration from Harvard University. He owned & operated Nu- matics of Highland as well as Roura Material Handling of Clinton Town- ship. John had a passion for cars and his Harley motorcycles. He would want to leave us all with a favorite saying, "It is what it is." "John has very fond memories of MSU, especially his time at the Michigan Gamma chapter house. Giving back allows other young men to experience great times and lasting friendships formed during their college years." Mark McManus '66 en- tered Chapter Eternal on June 14, after fighting with lung cancer for just over a year. Mark was 73 and a dedicated brother of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He contributed heavily to the numerous reboots of our chapter. Mark was a long- time entrepreneur and business owner in the De- troit area. He has three children, Mark McMa- nus Jr. '90, Kelly, and Heather, with his wife, Sherry. Sherry is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma at Michigan State. He will be missed by all who knew him. "My experience in the fraternity was such a major event in my life that I wanted to assist in providing that same experience to the current group of young men and those to follow." Chapter Eternal Gordon L. Rockwell '66 entered Chapter Eter- nal on July 11. After serving in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, Gordon became a cre- ative and discerning manager of some of the finest hotels and resorts in the world including The Waldorf Astoria in New York, The Home- stead Resort in Virginia and The Moscow Hil- ton. Scrupulously honest and honorable, Gordon could always be counted on to come through no matter the adversity. He found a way to live life his way and still leave others better for it. "Gordon was a proud member of SAE and remained active his entire life, treasuring its brotherhood to his last day."
