Realizing the Bill Fiscus Vision T his fall has been busy for the Michigan Gamma Chapter of SAE. We kicked it off with a great recruitment by adding 19 new mem- bers to our existing 110 brothers. We continued the chapter's theme of diversity by welcoming new members from California, Pittsburgh, and Illinois. We have raised our GPA to a 3.23. We are taking part in several sorority philanthropy events and are active throughout the commu- nity. Lastly, we hosted our annual Paddy Mur- phy Week, which drew out many members from Greek life and also students of the MSU com- munity in order to raise money for the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Michigan Gamma Continues Paddy Murphy Tradition This fall we hosted our third annual Paddy Mur- phy Week. The week included daily activities to compete against neighboring sororities. The first day included Penny Wars at the Rock on campus and Tag-an-SAE Day, where sorority women take pictures of brothers wearing let- ters for points. Banner Wars took place on the second day with each sorority creating a Paddy Murphy-themed banner that house moms from MSU judged. The last night we hosted to a pie eating contest. The winning group was awarded a social event at Club Rush for the most partici- pation and the most money raised. In total, we raised just over $10,000 to benefit the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Community Involvement We remain active in the local community and MSU by supporting Greek speakers that visit Michigan State University, and have complet- ed service projects such as cleaning up local parks. The brothers stay active by participating in intramural sports and sorority philanthropy events. We have teams in intramural football and soccer this fall, and participated in Sigma Kappa Kickoff, an ACW volleyball tournament, and an AZD football tournament. This year we partnered with Chi Omega and Sigma Rho for the Safe Halloween event, where local children trick-or-treat along M.A.C. Along with support- ing the local community, our brothers are mem- bers of many clubs and organizations, including Smile 4 Kids, MRULE, Pre-Med Club, Finance Association, Financial Markets Institute, and many more. Forever Grateful We would like to give a special thanks to all of our alumni. The renovation and continued uptake of our house would not be possible without the support from you. We are now fully settled into our newly renovated chapter house and could not be happier with it! With this continued help, our goal of $1,000,000 has almost been reached. We received a set of workout equipment from an alumnus that will be installed in the base- ment. The equipment installation and renovation should be completed this spring.
