MU CHAPTER OF DELTA KAPPA EPSILON | COLGATE UNIVERSITY | VOL. LIV, NO. IV FALL 2018 Yon Clarion Bell FOUNDATION NEWS FROM THE TEMPLE In This Issue: The Business of Success 2 Alumni Update 3 2018 Alumni Class 4 T he Mu of DKE Foundation has had a busy summer and fall. Reunion 2018 was a huge success with a full house all weekend long. On Saturday afternoon, the foundation held a Q&A with Temple project architects Ted Bartlett and Joe Picciano of Crawford & Stearns, followed by a groundbreak- ing ceremony in front of the Temple. The foundation's annual meeting after the groundbreaking ceremony was well attended and spirits were high, particularly following the initiation of 18 alumni brothers into the bonds of Mu. These young gentlemen represent the best of Colgate and DKE. Their initiation is a profound achievement for our brotherhood and continues the unbroken chain in our tradi- tions since losing undergraduate recognition in 2005. After the foundation's annual meeting, Mark McKay '92 and Kruel Karma rocked the LPM. Andrew Clark '93 and Cap- tain Black took to the stage after Kruel Karma. Captain Black rocked so hard the power cut out mid set. When the power came back on a few minutes later, Captain Black's groupies flooded the stage and remained there dancing and singing for the rest of the set. It was an awesome evening in the LPM with brothers and friends. Following reunion weekend, construction on the Temple be- gan with phase one of two. Phase one is set to be complete by the end of 2018 and phase two will pick up next spring with a target completion date of fall 2019. Between all the fun and construction, the foundation has been hard at work getting our affairs in order. We have formed a new non-profit corporation, The Mu of DKE Alumni Associa- tion, Inc. Going forward, the association will act as the op- erational arm of the alumni fraternity and the foundation will focus on the Temple library and scholarships. From a gov- ernance standpoint, the association will elect the foundation trustees. Elections for the association and foundation leader- Reunion Weekend Welcomes Excitement, Change New Alumni Association Formed to Support Mu of DKE Deke brothers at the Temple Groundbreaking Ceremony in the spring.
