MEET THE TEAM MAINTAINING MARIN'S PRESERVES Josh Rosenfeld and Jake Feickert, both native to Marin County, have a collective 28 years on the books with Marin County Parks. They work with staff and contractor crews to maintain 19,000 acres of preserves and Community Service Areas in Marin County. With duties ranging from landslide mediation to visitor education, these all-around rangers are essential for keeping Marin's communities and natural resources safe. At this time of year, they begin to prepare for storms by clearing out drainages while at other times, they focus on fire prevention and fuel break maintenance, among a range of other duties. Josh has wanted to be a park ranger since he was a kid in Novato. Jake grew up hiking in Gary Giacomini preserve and still takes his daughter there today.
