Alumni had a great time visiting our old stomping grounds and attending the alumni song night. However, based on alumni feedback, it appears many alumni do not have the time to travel back to the house for such events. With this in mind, we would like to host a new event, but we need your help. proviDe your reCommenDationS for founDer'S Day This spring, we are looking for a farm, barn, winery, brewery, event space, or even a nice property in Pennsylvania within two or three hours of the house to host Founder's Day. This event would be centered around what alumni naturally enjoy, such a barn party, bonfire, skeet shooting, attending a rodeo, barbecuing, four wheeling, and so on. If you have any sug- gestions or could host this event, please reach out as we are open to ideas. It was also discussed that we could start a list of possible locations and rotate every year. All suggestions or even pointing us toward a good contact helps tremendously. reStruCturinG our leaDerShip poSitionS We are in the process of restructuring our operations to create super small, bite-sized alumni roles. The responsibility and commitment in the past has been too much for alumni so we have made drastic changes for those who are interesting in getting involved but simply do not have the time to take on the work we previously asked of our association members. We want to make it much easier to volunteer, as a past griev- ance was that positions took up too much time and energy. We understand your busy lifestyle and are working to make responsibilities limited in scope. For example, our alumni insurance chairman would review our insurance contracts annually, arrange a date for the inspector to meet the under- graduates, ensure we have the right level of coverage, and ensure the appropriate paperwork is completed. This is his entire role—nothing more than that. Additional examples would include the song night chair- man organizing a song night with the chapter each year, and our Ag Hill chairman would facilitate regular involvement from Ag Hill with the undergraduates. Our RV Trip chair- man would plan an annual RV trip, and we are also looking to recruit alumni interested in serving as social chairmen for their respective cities. By dividing up work into smaller tasks, we hope alumni po- sitions become easier for all of us to help just a tiny bit, while still maintaining our full-time jobs, families, etc. If you are interested in getting involved, I invite you to reach out to me, so we can find the perfect position for you.
