Mike always talked highly of the men in his fraternity, and when it came time for Dave to choose a college, the decision came easy. "I made a visit to Miami specifically to meet the Men of Principle who were rebuilding the Al- pha Chapter, and at that moment, I knew Miami was the school for me," he said. Today, Dave's business, Precision Automotive Group (PAG), is grounded in his faith and the principles he learned from Beta. In fact, Dave launched PAG while at Miami. After graduation, Dave spent seven years at Illinois Tool Works until launching PAG full time in 2013. Although it was a challenge to build a business, Dave fol- lowed his passion and creates a new career highlight each time he researches and delivers a Ferrari, Bentley, or Porsche or builds a trusted relationships with someone in the business. "I've been blessed with a group of advisors, friends, collectors, and recognized experts who have encouraged and counseled me along the way," he said. In fact, it was their nominations that resulted in Dave's 40 under 40 award from Sports Car Market magazine. "I'm honored, humbled, and surprised to be selected. I thought the project by Sports Car Market magazine was wise—to identify and seek ideas from a diverse group of under-40 leaders in the industry who are actively engaged with shaping the future of the exotic and sports car industry, and represent the changes that are underway." Dave's passion for cars began before he could drive and he takes his role as a fiduciary and trusted advisor incredibly seriously. Dave advises buyers and sellers directly and regularly consults with wealth advisors, estate attorneys, family office managers, and insurance executives who have clients with a keen interest in luxury or exotic cars, or have a collection that needs to be valued, added to, or trimmed. When asked about his favorite assignments, two projects come to mind: a 1964 356C Porsche Coupe and a 1964 Ferrari 275 GTB/C Speciale. "I found and negotiated the purchase of the Porsche—a two-owner car with original paint and 39,000 miles—for a client who is a collec- tor. And, I had the privilege to be asked to work on the Ferrari, which is recognized as the most valuable car in the world, estimated at $80-100 million." Dave and his wife, Jackie, live in Glen Ellyn, Illi- nois. PAG can be found online at www.pagcars. com and Dave can be reached at dave@pagcars. com. A Driving Force Dave Bentson '05 Implements Beta Values in Luxury Automobile Career A Lasting Legacy O n April 21, Tom Reed '67 was honored at the Miami Football Spring Showcase. Although Tom's health prevented him from making the trip from North Carolina to Ox- ford, his wife, Cathee, made the trip and was surprised by a group of Tom's close friends and colleagues who named the Coaches Legacy Wall in the Athletic Performance Center in his name. The wall recog- nizes Tom's days as football coach at Miami, where he served as head coach from 1978-82. After coach- ing at Miami, he moved to North Carolina State University for two years and compiled a career col- lege football record of 43-43-2.
