(QIA) with two family friendly fundraisers occuring. Operation Hero Comfort Annual Silent Auction will be held from 11:00 am–4:00 pm in the Main Hall and the 5th Annual Soup and Chowder Festival starts at 12 noon - 3pm or until chowder runs out. Christmas Light Parade set for Saturday Dec. 15 With the Christmas Season ap- proaching the Quartzsite Area Chamber of Commerce and Tour- ism is honored to continue the tra- dition of the Christmas Light Pa- rade. The 15th Annual Christmas Light Parade will be Saturday, De- cember 15, 2018 at 7:00pm. Cel- ebrate the season: enter a fl oat, vehicle, or ATV in the parade, Lineup is at 6pm on Mesquite Ave. by the QIA. Parade route heads east on E. Main St., north on Plymouth, west on Quail Trail. Re-Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting for Grubstake Social Club was held Nov. 24, 2018 Saturday, Dec. 8 offers TWO BIG fundraisers Funds raised from Soup & Chowder Festival will help keep the food bank going for those in our community who need their services. For more in- formation, contact Pam 603-834-0847. Operation Hero Comfort fundraiser supports care packages sent to our men and women serving our country and are in harms way. Funds raised will help cover the cost of postage, which is currently $17.40 per box, or to purchase items requested that are not donated. If you have items you would like to donate to the auction you can drop them off at the offi ce of the Apartments, Readers Oasis Bookstore or call Anita at 763 639-9330. In the Main Hall, there will be lots of tables fi lled with many items donated by businesses, vendors, crafters and individual people. Come over and bid on the items you want, go enjoy soup and chowder and return to see if you need to up your bid. If you can't stay until 4:00pm that is okay; if you are the winning bid we you will be called on Sun- day. There will have Christmas cards to send to the troops for you to sign, as well as a box/bin for you to donate items that we send in the care packages. QIA is located at 235 E. Ironwood, Quartzsite. Come enjoy Soup & Chowder Festival, Operation Hero Comfort's Si- lent Auction, good music, and have a good time while supporting two local charities.
