B rothers, I hope this newsletter finds you all doing well. It is an exciting time to be a member of Alpha-Omicron, both as an alumnus and as an undergraduate. The chapter continues to excel in terms of membership, in- volvement on campus, and involvement with the international fraternity. MATTHIAS EBEYER '20 ELECTED TO GRAND HIGH ZETA For the first time in our long history, we have an undergraduate member, Matthias Ebeyer '20, sitting on the Grand High Zeta as the Grand High Theta. Not since Judge Lloyd Claycomb 1914 (Alpha-Omicron #1) have we had a member of Alpha-Omicron sitting on the highest board of Lambda Chi Alpha. With six brothers attending The General Assembly, we also had a strong presence at our national convention this summer. Connor Strode '18 served on the International Ritual Team. EXEMPLIFYING PERFECT BROTHERLY LOVE For many years we have had a strong sense of ritual in our chapter and this past spring we have been fortunate to have initiated brothers from Wabash and Eastern Illinois as well as honor- arily initiating the associate director of alumni engagement at our International Headquarters, Ryan Mcllrath. Throughout this edition we will highlight several of these stories as well as talk about our Special Olympics philanthropy held the day after Homecoming. WITHSTANDING THE TEST OF TIME The start to the fall semester was busy as usual as recruitment efforts found more than 500 under- graduate men visiting the Alpha-Omicron. We ended up with an associate class of 39 men, plac- ing our total membership near 155 members. In this critical time of discussion around fraternity life, it is refreshing that Greek life on IU's cam- pus is still thriving, and Alpha-Omicron stands as testament to this fact. While there may be some differences in today's chapter compared to the one you knew, there is an unbroken chain of quality Lambda Chis at IU. In order to preserve that legacy, we must remember the pivotal role Alpha-Omicron and our beloved chapter house played in shaping our lives as young men. SPECIAL THANKS TO JOE FOLKENING '88 I know many of you have met High Pi Joe Folkening '88. I cannot leave this note without mentioning that we could not have reached this level of success on campus without him. We all owe Joe a huge thanks for his tireless support of Alpha-Omicron.
