China Cabinet, chair / ottoman, table and 4 chairs, clothes and lots more items. 4215 Polkville Road, Shelby, NC 28150 With 475 angels to serve in Cleveland County this Christmas, The Salvation Army is thankful for its public host sites. However, those have dwindled with the rise of corpo- rate restrictions. For instance, shoppers in Shelby for many years were used to seeing a large Angel Tree at the center of Cleveland Mall. Although that is no longer possible, Marshall's opened its doors to a tree last year and is doing so again for 2017. More and more, the Army turns to private companies to adopt batches of angels, mak- ing them available to their associates to pro- vide a more joyful Christmas morning for local children, as well as a hands-on giving experience for workers. At Kendrion, which makes specialized parts for the automotive industry, the staff had been eagerly awaiting this year's angels, said Human Resources Manager Paula Vincent. "I've had people coming up to me asking, 'Are we doing the Angel Tree again this year?' So they're really looking forward to it," Vincent said when the paper angels were delivered recently. Other company hosts include NEG (former- ly PPG), Plaster Family Dentistry, Walmart Neighborhood Market in Kings Mountain, Fi- delity Bank, Hurst Jaws of Life and KM State Employees Credit Union. "We can hardly tell you how grateful we are for these businesses," said Sgt. Mary Ashby, corps administrator with her husband, Sgt. Les Ashby, of the Shelby offi ce. "If anyone wants to join us in this, please call me at 704- 692-8515." Public Angel Trees are available at the following locations: Cleveland County Arts Council, Denny's, Fatz Café, Marshall's, Wings Etc., and The Salvation Army offi ce YOU CAN HELP Sign up to ring the bell!
