B E T A C H I C H A P T E R O F K A P P A K A P P A G A M M A Pride in Our Past, Foundation for the Future The New 238 E. Maxwell ALUMNAE RETURN FOR BETA CHI FOUNDER'S DAY AND HOUSE DEDICATION Add Your Name to This Momentous Project O ctober 13th was a proud day for all sisters of Beta Chi as we united for the grand opening and dedication of our "new" chapter house. The event was the perfect opportunity for alumnae and collegiates to come together and witness the impact our investments have had on the sisterhood. While there is much to celebrate with the completion of construction, we must remember that the Pride in Our Past, Foundation for the Future: The New 238 E. Maxwell campaign still needs our attention. Thanks to your generosity we have raised $494,434—82% of our $600,000 stretch goal! We will continue to strive toward this end and are eager to have more sisters join us along the way. With more alumnae engagement and interaction than ever before, Kappa Kappa Gamma at the University of Kentucky is well positioned for many years of growth and prosperity, but we can't stop now. As our chapter continues to grow and we welcome new members to our sisterhood, we hope alumnae members will stay involved as well. As a House Corporation, we are charged with the responsibility of maintaining a safe and comfortable environment in which Beta Chis can learn, lead, and build friendships that will last a lifetime, we must continue to expand our alumnae ranks. Elizabeth Aulick Robertson, Gamma Phi '96 and Libby Green Messer '99 will both be retiring from the board as Liz has accepted a position on Kappa's National Finance Committee and Libby is serving as a family court judge. Please consider becoming a member of the advisory or house board. It's a great way for young professional women to network. Due to Elizabeth and Libby's professional responsibilities, the house corporation must now open the opportunity for other women to take on leadership roles and foster sisterhood in this capacity. Just think, if only 43 sisters stepped forward to commit a five-year pledge of $2,500, we could raise the $105,566 we need to bring this project to successful completion. A $2,500 pledge breaks down to $500 per year, or just $42 per month. If you're one of the 1,700 sisters who has not contributed to the Pride in Our Past, Foundation for the Future campaign, now is the time. Any gift amount is needed and appreciated. If you have already contributed, please consider using the enclosed pledge form to increase your gift by 20% or to add another year to your existing pledge schedule. Thank you for your consideration. I hope that you will be able to return to 238 E. Maxwell in the near future, meet the collegians, and witness the dividends of your investment. The house corporation is so proud to be a part of such a fabulous group of women and is honored to help keep Beta Chi strong. Kappa Kappa Gamma membership is not for four years, it is for life.
