3 CORNELL UNIVERSITY Actives Focus on Giving Back W e started off this semester partnering with Kappa Alpha Theta to host a Red Cross blood drive on Cornell's campus. A few weeks later, we hosted Alpha Phi's third annual Heart Health Week. This was a week full of events, including a tabling event where anyone could come by to learn about heart health and make some healthy trail mix! We'll also have a run/walk around the Cornell Botanical Gardens to show others that exercise is good for the heart. Since heart disease is our na- tion's leading cause of death, we feel strongly about increasing awareness throughout our campus. Some new Panhellenic initiatives are aimed at increasing community service among sororities, so we're looking forward to a semester filled with helping out local organizations! aoe, Lisa Condoluci '19 Chapter President (516) 547-5761 / lac322@cornell.edu Johanna DiJoria '16, Mia Cayard '17, and Briar Brumley '16 tabling at our blood drive. Alexa Lehman '17 and Isabel Alvarez '16 on the first day of classes with their dogs. Shanna Martin '18, Charlotte Walden '18, Hannah Beitler '18, and Naomi Einhorn '18 on move-in day! How Can I Tour the House? W e love when sisters visit Ithaca outside of Homecoming and Reunion, and to make sure these visits can include a visit to the house, we've come up with helpful suggestions. In our modern, electronic world, calling the landline is not the very best way to reach the chapter, especially during breaks or outside of term. As our staff and officers change yearly, the best way to arrange a tour is to contact the House Corporation Board. Susanne Solomon '78 lives in Ithaca a few minutes from the chapter house and can be reached at snsolomon53@gmail.com. In the event she is away, Susan Collins '89 is likely to be able to assist you at sg225@cornell.edu. To have the best visit experience, please let us know your plans as much in advance as possible and understand that during periods of activity such as renovation, recruitment, or finals, access to the house is restricted or limited.
