The work we did on Capitol Hill in April will have a lasting impact on students and fraternity and sorority leaders across the country. I learned so much through the experience and am incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity." —Jacqueline Lawler, ΓΦΒ, Iowa State University FSPAC Student Board Member Federal law requires us to use our best efforts to collect and report the name, address, occupation, and name of employer of each individual whose contributions aggregate in excess of $200 in a calendar year. More than 300 guests were informed and inspired by 20 members of Congress, collegiate leaders, and FSPAC board members. Guests included donors, student leaders, and alumnae and alumni from fraternal organizations from across the country. Many of them had visited Capitol Hill that day to advocate for single-sex student organizations and the PROSPER Act H.R. 4508. During the reception and dinner, members of Congress thanked the FSPAC for its support and efforts to preserve the experience many of them benefitted from during their college years. All credited their fraternity or sorority experience in providing them with leadership training and practicing the art of giving back. The program also included two outstanding collegiate speakers who had participated in the Capitol Hill visits. Both women serve as Panhellenic Council Presidents at their respective universities: Jacqueline Lawler, ΓΦΒ, of Iowa State University and Devon Leasure, ΔΔΔ, of University of Florida. Member organizations were recognized for their levels of giving to the FSPAC. At the Platinum level, Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Delta Pi, Kappa Alpha Order, and Kappa Alpha Theta met the criteria. At the Gold level, Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Delta Sigma Phi, and Delta Zeta were honored. Gamma Phi Beta was recognized at the Silver level. Bronze honorees included Delta Gamma, Alpha Phi, National Panhellenic Conference, and Pi Kappa Phi. Mark your calendars for the 2019 reception and dinner, April 10 at the Liaison Hotel.
