3 DELTA TAU DELTA Fall Semester Already a Big Success Exciting Dad's Day Opportunity and Library Updates T he men of Epsilon Mu Chapter have been working diligently this fall to make ourselves and the surrounding community better for everyone. We just finished our recruitment period and have obtained 30 men who are ready to demonstrate our values and are all willing to learn from the brothers before them so that when they are initiated they know what it takes to be successful men in the Greek community. WATERMELON BUST SUCCESS We hosted our annual Watermelon Bust last month and continue to reach new heights each year. While all the brothers take part by helping in some way, Donavan Puetz '20 took the lead as our Watermelon Bust chairman and worked hard with the women of Alpha Chi Omega to ensure our success this September. We've also continued our community service efforts by adding different events at the convention center in downtown Muncie and serving as valets in August, donating all tips to the event being hosted that evening. FLAG FOOTBALL AT DELT The intramural sports at Ball State have been condensed from years before so we decided to take matters into our own hands by hosting a flag football tournament in our front yard, which was open to all fraternities. With nine teams the tournament was a big success, and it also looks to be something that could be done regularly moving forward. IMPROVING OUR LIBRARY AND WEBSITE Alumnus Wade Baertschi '11 has been very active this fall in helping our chapter organize our history and archives. He has almost fully renovated our library by replacing old composites and adding new Delt memorabilia, and he has made our website more user friendly so that potential new members and alumni have an ease of access to find more information about the chapter. We are very thankful for all he has done. DAD'S DAY AT LUCAS OIL STADIUM Dad's Day took place on October 21 at the Colts game. A team representative reached out and offered us special pricing as well as tailgating privileges for the Colts versus Bills game. The brothers and their fathers had an amazing time cheering on the Colts. This was a great opportunity for parents to connect and a new experience for us off campus. This fall semester has shown us that there are so many opportunities for us to grow as a chapter and individually as men. We are excited to see what the rest of the year has in store for us! Fraternally, Jaleel Pryuer '20 Chapter President (317) 650-1749 jrpryuer@bsu.edu Presenting Dr. George Gannage with the Faculty of the Year Award.
