3 AUBURN UNIVERSITY CHAPTER ETERNAL Charles R. Elder IV '07 entered Chapter Eternal on June 26, leaving behind his wife, Shannon, and their two children: Charlie (5) and Caroline (3). Charles' life was celebrated on June 29 by almost 700 family members and friends. "We will miss him greatly until we meet him again in Heaven. Charles was a wonderful son, husband, father, and friend and he had fond memories of his beloved Auburn and Sigma Chi brothers," his wife Shannon recalls. He lived in Shreveport, La. ALUMNI NEWS James R. Havron '49 retired from International Paper Corp. in 1986 and went to work for Finnish Firm until he retired for good in 1998. Dick now does volunteer work with Meals on Wheels and through a local hospital and church in the Mobile, Ala., area. Dick has remained in touch with a handful of Sigma Chis from his era and would love to know how others are doing. Aaron will turn 91 in December and his wife, Helda, is 89. "We are getting down the road of life. We have had a blessed life. I have good memories of my Sigma Chi days." James W. Fryer '66 and his wife, Wyonnette, have three grandchildren, one who is considering Auburn for his college studies. "Best wishes as you reestablish the Gamma Sigma Chapter of Sigma Chi at Auburn. Since retiring, John has been involved with the North American Data Service, has served as a substitute teacher in Duval County, Fla., and is a preferred stockholder in TILT Holdings. He also volunteers his time with Meals on Wheels and the Sonrise Worship Center, both in Atlantic Beach, Fla. Harp Jr. '66 and his wife, Linda, have been world travelers and were inducted in the Samford Society in support of the Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center on September 14. The couple lives in Midland, Ga. E-mail: stehharp@aol.com Harry I. Waddle Jr. '66 is president of the house corporation and retired as vice president for Bell South in 2003. He lives in Vestavia, Ala., with his wife. The couple has two daughters and six grandchildren. E-mail: waddlei@bellsouth.net Steven J. Koehler '70 retired after 42 years practicing dentistry. Steven and Gail moved to Suprise, Ariz., where he plays a lot of golf. "Waiting anxiously for Auburn's football season. War Eagle!" E-mail: skoehler48@gmail.com David C. Winsor '70 says after 12 great years on Sandy Creek at Lake Martin, he and his wife, Jenny, moved to Gulf Shores around a year ago. "We enjoy being near my two sons and three granddaughters, all whom live in Mobile, Ala." At the Gulf, David and his family enjoys the beach, some boating and fishing, and a lot of eating out at the many fine eateries and watering holes.
