P H I K A P PA TA U 4 Putting Our Best Foot Forward Alpha Chi Chapter Raises $1,464 for Young Life Camp A lpha Chi Chapter has worked extremely hard to improve the environment and morale of the chapter house in the past few weeks leading up to fall formal recruitment. We hosted a few recruitment events over the summer and gained four early bids before formal recruitment began. In the end, we welcomed two new members from spring recruitment and 16 new associates this fall. Chapter Ranks Fourth for GPA Our chapter GPA was a 3.14, putting us fourth out of 18 chapters in the IFC. The all-fraternity av- erage was a 3.06. The all-Greek average was 3.24. Our vice president of alumni relations, Kelvin Blade '18, received the IFC scholarship, meaning IFC is paying for his fraternity dues this semester for outstanding performance in the academic setting and in the community. Alpha Chi Hosts Successful Phi Tauco Night This past spring, we hosted a philanthropy event in which we collected $800 toward SeriousFun Network by selling tacos. We collaborated with ΣΑΕ as well as other fraternities and sororities on campus to raise $1,464 to send kids to Young Life Camp. Thank You, Alumni and Parents We would like to thank all of our alumni who made it out to our annual spring crawfish boil. It is always great to hear stories and to gain insight from our alumni. The chapter would also like to give a special thanks to the parents who have contributed to events. Alpha Chi shared our gratitude by hosting our Mom's Weekend on October 6! Visit Us at 115 Clyde Q. Sheely Circle As you can see, Alpha Chi Chapter is dedicated to bringing Phi Kappa Tau at Mississippi State to the top, and we could not do it with our amazing alumni! Our goal is to take the chapter to another level this next semester by taking strategic baby steps that will have a lasting impact. I encourage any alumni to stop by the chapter house and visit. Fraternally, Rodrick Woods '19 Chapter President rlw584@msstate.edu (256) 337-5951 Brothers lend a hand on Community Service Day with Starkville's Salvation Army. Hosting our spring date party during the Masters Tournament, Alpha Chi and our dates enjoy a golf-themed mixer. Alumni return home to Phi Kappa Tau for our annual alumni crawfish boil. Members enjoy good food and company while ben- efitting the community at our Phi Tauco Serious Fun Children's Network late-night event. The fall 2018 new member class proudly holds up the PKT flag.
