As always, the weekend – Oct. 12-14 – will feature everyone's favorites: barbecue, great music, cute kids and booths with goodies to sell. But be ready for some changes this year. The annual Shriner parade, one of the largest of its kind, will kick off later than normal. The start will be at 11 a.m. this year – two hours later than in previous years – to allow more time for Shriners to get set up and ready to charm a sea of kids and parents waiting to cheer them on as they head through Oxford to the main road into campus. Watch for some changes in the parade route as well – details to come. MHCO Homecoming set for Oct. 12-14 e endless rain was an unin- vited guest at the 13th Annual Masonic Carolina Pig Jig, but it didn't dampen enthusiasm during the annual battle over who makes the best BBQ. e Pig Jig is an annual event designed to raise funds for the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford and the Central Children's Home at Oxford. e event has raised more than $100,000 for charity since it began.
