THE PLAN IN CORVALLIS W ith robust membership combined with healthy undergraduate and alumni leadership, the house corporation has been assessing how best to address our facility needs. With the help of Krittenbrink Architecture and their expertise and experience in Greek housing, our path has become clearer. We have determined that the renovation of the existing structure would be costly, would not effectively meet the needs of the undergraduates, and would have a much shorter lifespan than a newly constructed facility. A much more cost-effective and long-term approach is to make a major investment in an up-to-date, safe facility that will serve Lambda Chi Alpha at OSU far into our second century. Our plan is to build the new chapter house at 10th and Monroe. Remembering our history and incorporating it into the new chapter house will be a priority for the house corporation. We are planning a future home for Lambda Chi Alpha that will set us apart on the OSU campus. e main goal for the new house is to be a gathering place that acts as Alpha Lambda's center of activity. We are striving for a high-quality, durable structure that will fuel the leadership, character, and personal growth of the members who pass through its doors. If we expect future generations to carry on our historical success, we can settle for nothing less than a chapter house that is representative of our leadership role at OSU. Aer careful study, assessment, and planning, the Alpha Lambda House Corpo- ration, together with Krittenbrink Architecture, has developed exciting plans for construction of a new chapter house at 1015 NW Monroe. "I believe it was W.C. Fields who said, 'Never let school get in the way of your education.' With that in mind, I was able to learn life lessons from many of the brothers in the house during my two years in the Alpha Lambda Chapter. I believe it is important to surround yourself with high-quality people. Not only to learn from, but to be an example for as well. Our commitments to the campaign are our way of affording brothers, and future brothers, some of the great life lessons that we were offered."
