These updates come at a cost, and more financial support is needed to ensure the work can be completed as envisioned. He encourages his brothers to consider donating, but not to be concerned about how much they can give. "Give what you feel comfortable with, keeping in mind that gifts can be spaced over five years. In-kind donations are also welcome." When not working on the Old Gal project, Torjan runs a small architectural firm with just under 10 employees in Tukwila, a South Seattle suburb. They specialize in commercial work, including industrial, restaurant, multi-family apartments, self-storage, space planning, and health clubs. The firm is presently working on an ambulatory surgery center addition to the PRO Sports Club in Bellevue, "a 30 million dollar project that is very complicated in terms of coordination of the mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems. We're also planning a new pool and water park complex. I feel fortunate to have so many repeat clients and referrals from them that have kept me busy over the years." More of Torjan's work can be viewed at www.ronhovdearch.com. Torjan and his wife of 25 years, Mary Black, have a daughter, Kristen, who recently graduated with a computer engineering degree from Santa Clara University. Torjan enjoys skiing, golfing, and bike riding in his leisure time, and has been a member and president of Rotary and Kiwanis clubs. You can connect with Torjan at torjan@ ronhovdearchitects.com.
