The Return to 3000 University Avenue
Our Legacy
A
lpha Tau Omega was first chartered at the University of North Dakota in
1922. Shortly thereafter, our original founding fathers of the Delta Nu
Chapter secured housing at 3000 University Avenue. The original house was
built in 1924 and served the chapter well for over 40 years. In 1966, alumni
and undergraduates worked together to renovate and expand the house. The
entrepreneurial spirit and determination of our brotherhood provided more than
1,000 ATWs with their home away from home during college until the facility
was demolished in 2007.
The "3000 Fun Club" was far more than a residence. It was place that influenced
the lives of generations of men, cultivating lasting friendships in the process.
Many of our best college memories can be traced back to our time in ATW.
We not only learned the importance of friendship, knowledge, service, morality,
and excellence, but we acquired valuable assets, which include leadership skills,
organizational skills, social skills, teamwork, and character. For many, these
traits have been integral to our personal success and helped make us the men we
are today.
Alumni and undergraduate members are once more in pursuit of providing a
home for our brotherhood and reestablishing the physical presence of ATW at
the University of North Dakota. We believe ATW should continue to help young
men develop and mature into tomorrow's leaders. We invite you to join us in our
pursuit to restore the legacy of Delta Nu.
Gary Marsden '60 is involved because…
1. I had a great experience at UND
2. Most of my college friends are ATΩs
3. Living at the 3000 Fun Club was really worthwhile
4. I would like a future ATΩ to have the same opportunity to succeed
5. A great new chapter deserves a house
