F lorida Nu is committed to doing something different than the rest by creating not only a space for our brotherhood but also a scholarship endowment. e space will be used for events, meetings, study, presentations, teaching and storage. e location will host a for-credit class for University students intended to acclimate them to University life. Additionally, we will host a faculty member who will maintain an office at the location. We are negotiating a deal with the University to lease and de- velop 28,319 SF (0.65 acres) on campus on SW 108 Avenue. We have engaged an architect to develop plans to build a fa- cility for the Chapter to grow and flourish. e space would be used for events, meetings, studying, presentations, storage, and would even have an office for a faculty member and host a for-credit class in collabora- tion with the University. Develop an endowment for scholarships and leadership de- veloment opportunities for Chapter members so that SigEp can be experienced by any worthy individual, regardless of external economic factors. OUR PLAN "We must be stewards for our Chapter. We all gained life- long friendships and benefit- ted from our SigEp experience. This campaign is the perfect opportunity to help young men become the leaders they can be. It is our duty to enhance the experience for those in the Chapter today." – AVC VP of Facilities Ben Sardiñas '01 PROJECT COSTS Land Acquisition....................................................... $100,000 Facility (6,500 SF @ $200)..................................... $1,300,000 Furniture.................................................................... $100,000 Scholarship Endowment.......................................... $500,000 Total Cost........................................................ $2,000,000 1. 2. $500,000 Endowment n Merit Scholarships for FIU SigEp's best scholars, leaders, and athletes n Need-based Scholarships for worthy students who want to join but cannot afford it n Educational Program Grants to enhance learning and development experience n Leadership grants to help with registration and travel to leadership programs such as CLA, Ruck, and Conclave n $25,000+ in scholarship and grant support annually (amount to grow in perpetuity) $1.5 Million Facility n 6,500+ SF non-residential, multipurpose and convertible learning community n Dedicated classroom shared with FIU for credited courses n Adjustable walls to allow for large or small functions: meetings, studying, lounging, ritual, recruitment, etc. n Fully wired and integrated with FIU's technology backbone n Ample storage space, trophy display, library/study, executive board office OUR VISION e best experience in the best environment
