E-mail: kelseykelly517@gmail.com Nearly $5K Raised at First-Ever Alpha Chi-cken and Waffles Alpha Beta Prepares for Centennial Celebration W hat a year for Alpha Chi Omega at Purdue! I am very excited to share with you our sisters' many accomplishments this academic year. Alpha Beta earned the second-highest overall GPA of all sororities on campus last fall. Academics have always been at the forefront of our goals and our dedication has paid off in the Greek community. The active members worked hard and I am proud of how we are maintaining the legacy that you, our alumnae, helped to build. Alpha Chi-cken and Waffles Raises Nearly $5K We've worked closely with YWCA and feel that our chapter has made a real impact in West Lafayette. Our first-ever Alpha Chi- cken and Waffles event was fun and success- ful, with over 500 Purdue students and two AXΩ alumnae visiting our chapter house for some delicious food. This event raised nearly $5,000, thanks to the efforts of Vice President of Philanthropy Margarita Costas '16. Our sisters have also lent support to the philan- thropic activities of other fraternities and sororities at Purdue. Budding Leaders and Professionals Our members are multitalented and driven, and have demonstrated remarkable commit- ment to their various passions this year. One sister was elected president of Women in Business, a campus organization that aims to empower and motivate women as they reach their fullest. Some of our members are a part of the Old Masters Program, a longstanding annual event at Purdue that celebrates accom- plished professionals. Another Alpha Chi is an Indy 500 Festival Princess and one sister even climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro last summer. Thank You, Alumnae and Friends Each of our active members is grateful for con- tributions made by our alumnae and friends during Alpha Beta's centennial campaign. Because of your gifts, we were able to reno- vate our home and complete various projects. Members wrote thank-you notes to express our gratitude for your donations to express how thankful we are for you. I am grateful for the common bond we all share through Alpha Chi Omega, and hope you will join the active members in September for our centennial celebration. May we always strive to be Real. Strong. Women. and "seek the heights" wherever we go.
