SISTERS ON PURPOSE T he career and personal develop- ment committee has made it our goal to not only support our sis- ters in regard to career development, but personal development, too, as both are crucial to growing professionally. We held a discussion after the Vagina Monologues production on campus to provide a space for sisters to discuss female identity and support one another. A group of us also attended the Women in the Workforce Conference in April, an event with various speakers/breakout sessions centered on women empowerment and navigating the professional sphere. Overall, we are proud of the incredibly accomplished sisters and are working to further celebrate our achievements by highlighting a "Professional Gal of the Week" or notifying sisters of opportunities that might be of interest. We will be hosting several Mu alumnae back at the house to reconnect with older sisters and get advice on how to transition and set ourselves up for success post-graduation. Focused on Career and Personal Development Creating a Culture of Sustainability A s director of sustain- ability at Mu chapter, I have been working on creating a culture of sus- tainability within the chap- ter house through improving our facility's waste diver- sion and educating members about proper waste and other climate change efforts. The committee has promoted sus- tainable practices and empha- sized actions individuals can take to reduce their carbon footprint. We are working to motivate members to be con- scious of their environmental impact and encourage them to sign environmental action initia- tives, use reusable mugs, register to vote, and attend Chi O's new Totally Meatless Tuesdays. We hope to increase the chapter's awareness of issues on climate change as well as educate them on how they can be a part of the solution. Loyally, Sophie Babka '17 Sustainability Chairman Sustainability Chairman Sophie Babka '17 and our House Director, Daisy West, have made the chapter house more sustainable with Totally Meatless Tuesdays.
