DELTA DELTA DELTA UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA 1611 COLLEGE NORMAN, OK 73072 ADDRESS SERVICE REQUESTED NEWS Theta Gamma We are looking for dedicated Tri Deltas to join our committee. The Delta Gamma sorority has completed an extensive remodeling of their entire house, in- cluding bedrooms and bathrooms. That house looks fantastic! Everything is very appealing to young college women. Alpha Phi has redec- orated the entire downstairs and their study areas and movie rooms upstairs. Pi Phi com- pleted a redecorating project, including wood floors upstairs and into the bedrooms. We are fortunate to have a newer chapter house, which already has a floor plan with very nice, large, usable rooms and we are on a large piece of land. Our house is beautifully decorated and comfortable for our chapter members. We are evaluating our needs and wants, and will continue to update and im- prove our chapter house so that it is safe for the current members, attractive, usable, and is sustainable for many future generations. Delta Love and Mine, The Theta Gamma House Corporation thetagammahousecorp@gmail.com Busy Summer (Continued from page 1) Building Pledge Class Traditions Weekend Retreat Brings New Members Together F or the past 35-plus years, freshman Tri Delta members have taken annual trips with their new member educators for an overnight stay and an opportunity to learn more about DDD. In the 1970s, these overnighters were called walkouts. Today, they are known by Theta Gammas as the Freshman Retreat. Like any good tradition, this event has improved and evolved over the years, and we are quite proud to be one of the only chap- ters (if not the only) at OU that offers their pledge classes a full weekend retreat. Sisters now spend two nights and two and a half days at a beautiful lodge at Falls Creek, a camp in the Arbuckle Mountains. The retreat provides our young ladies with opportunities to get to know their pledge sisters, something that is often a challenge in our large recruitment classes. The weekend is packed with loads of activities, including icebreakers, a bonfire, impromptu skits, Tri Delta and Theta Gamma information, and good food. FORMAL DINNERS AND PAJAMA NIGHTS Tri Deltas Enjoy Dining, Fun, and Sisterhood W ith Theta Gamma's growing membership, our chapter house can no longer accommodate a formal dinner for all of our active members at once. Though growth is a good problem for us, it requires us to be creative with seating for our events. In preparation for Theta Gamma's formal dinners, all of the furniture from our informal living room is moved. Beautiful gold band china created by Ronda Renner Roush '72 adorns gorgeously decorated tables and members enjoy an opportunity to con- nect and dine with one another. The dinners, hosted monthly for a different member class, are treasured by our sisters. Additionally, a breakfast for dinner-themed pajama night is hosted by our cherished Mom E to congratulate and celebrate our graduating senior sis- ters. What could be more fun? Not only did we meet our $15K in 24 Hours Campaign goal, we exceeded it, raising over $38,000! See page 1 for more details!
