Spring, Summer Bring Renovations to 1516 McCain Lane
I
am hoping that by the time you receive this newsletter
spring will have actually sprung! As I write this, it is 38
degrees with a chance of snow this evening—way too
chilly for a spring day!
Spring came roaring in at 1516 McCain Lane with the closing
of the south driveway so that our neighbors to the south could
tear down and rebuild the retaining wall between our proper-
ties. After many months of negotiations with our neighbor,
we will have a new curb and gutter along the south side of the
driveway and the new wall that will be safe and code com-
pliant. Construction should be finishing up within a week or
two, and I know the residents of the Chi Omega house will
be happy to get the use of their driveway back! The House
Corporation Board would like to thank the active members,
as well as those that work at the house every day, for their
patience and cooperation during these 5-6 weeks.
This summer, we hope to do some landscaping where we had
to take out the large locust tree that was near the patio and
fountain. We also plan to replace some furniture where need-
ed, replace the guttering, and tend to touch-ups and repairs
that come with everyday use by 65 college women.
The HCB would like to thank all alumnae that continue to
support Kappa Alpha through your monetary gifts and/or
your time. Stop by any time during the academic year. Meet
the awesome women that make Chi Omega their home; you
will be impressed!
Lovingly Yours in Chi Omega,
