I t's been an exciting last few months here at Lambda! We've been working hard to maintain top grades, hosting officers and leadership consultants, and planning philanthropy and social events. We are ecstatic to report that Lambda reclaimed "Top of the Hill" for the fall semester, achieving an incredible 3.58 GPA overall, compared to an all-Panhellenic average of 3.36 and all-women's average of 3.24. We celebrated with cookies and are working hard to earn top grades again. "It sparks even more determination to keep it up for this spring," Vice President Natalie Rainbolt '16 said. Our philanthropy chairman has planned an exciting spring semester for us here. We hosted our annual Hoot Set Spike sand volleyball tournament Sunday, April 22. Additionally, we'll be sending several members to participate in the 2018 Walk for a Wish in Kansas City. Lambda hosted the Kansas Leadership Conference on February 25, the first-ever conclave of officers from K-State, Emporia State, and UMKC facilitated by Regional Director Lacey Myers, Epsilon Delta '08. It was a fantastic day of workshops encompassing leadership skills, marketing, and the importance of mental health programming. National Leadership Consultant Annie Wacker, Eta Gamma, was also in attendance. We hosted her again in Lawrence on March 11-15. Our annual February date party was a blast this year, which was held at the Jazzhaus in Lawrence with the relevant theme of Chi Olympics. It was a hilarious night of karaoke and fun. Our social chairman was also busy gearing up for Bum Bum on April 7, which was held outdoors at the Victorian Veranda Country Inn during the daytime. As you can tell, the semester is flying by and our seniors are (almost) ready to graduate. We'll dearly miss them and are looking forward to seeing all that they accomplish. As always, we are so thankful for the love and support of our alumnae. Feel free to stop by the house anytime—alumnae visits are our favorite thing! We learned about what effective leadership looks like through skills such as empathy and emotional intelligence listening to workshops given by Regional Director Lacey Myers, Epsilon Delta '08. The Rock Chalk Revue directors and cast put on a fantastic show in March. Lambda teamed up with Sigma Chi and worked for countless hours to make Don't Be a Tool an incredible show. Congratulations! Directors Mallory Houser '14, Madeline Chestnut '14, and Gabby Reed '15 are pictured here with the Sigma Chi directors.
