OPTION A Purchase and Renovation Estimated Cost: $800,000-$1,250,000 Option A would include the purchase and potential renovation of an existing apartment building. Depending on availability this would: • Offer apartment-style rooms for members • Members would have the privacy of their own room, but be together in a building • Offer a location for members to have brotherhood events • Include basic site improvements to ensure members have a quality living environment • Avoid larger land acquisition costs and rezoning issues as in Option B • Existing land could be used for future building opportunities Our Plan OPTION B Purchase and New Build (7,234 sq. ft.) Estimated Cost: $3,500,000 Option B would be new construction on an existing parcel of land to house up to 25 individuals. We would build a premier facility to not only sustain our chapter but also to plan for the future growth of our chapter at K-State. • Provide ample study space, including areas for individual and group study, as well as include the latest technology to fit the needs of the millennial student • Double-occupancy bedrooms with communal bathrooms • Large multipurpose room to accommodate dining space and chapter meetings • Multiple storage areas and displays for chapter archives • Outdoor back patio with a grill and outdoor seating T here are two distinct options under consideration by the Delta Chi Housing Corporation, both of which will address the long-term viabil- ity of the Delta Chi experience at Kansas State by offering a new location. Whether the house corporation chooses to pursue purchasing and renovating an existing apartment building or acquiring land to build a new structure, we must provide the best opportunities to our undergraduate members and alumni while also offering something unique to the K-State fraternity community. Our decision must take into account the desired positon of Delta Chi at Kansas State. e chapter alumni and undergraduate leadership has developed two plans to address the long-term viability of the Delta Chi experience at K-State. rough careful study, assessment, and planning, it has been determined that one of these two options is crucial to the chapter's future success. We have enlisted the assistance of our own brother, Jeff Schutzler '96 at Hollis Miller Architects, to design preliminary plans. Together, we have developed a tactical approach to our future.
