Undergraduates Set Eyes on 2019 Buchanan Cup C alifornia Delta is continuing to excel as a dominant organization on the San Diego State University campus. We are coming off a hectic, but rewarding fall semester under the guidance of the new executive board. After winning awards in 2017 for IFC Chapter of the Year, IFC Highest GPA, and the Dean's Trophy, we have high expectations and ambitions for 2018. We are excited to announce that our chapter came in first place for fall accreditation among other IFC chapters, making us the most involved and proactive IFC chapter within the SDSU community. Cal Delta also earned the highest IFC GPA for the fifth semester in a row with a 3.21, putting us well ahead of the IFC average GPA of a 3.00 and the SDSU average of a 3.08. In early March, Cal Delta officers and rising leaders had the pleasure of attending the 2018 Carlson Leadership Academy (CLA), where the chap- ter was awarded the Talent Power Award for our excellence in the area of recruitment. Also at CLA, our chapter counselor, Ron Smith '69, was awarded the Exemplary Service Award for his commitment and service to our chapter over the years. Ron has been an incredible leader for Cal Delta and has been essential in the success of the chapter. Seeing him recognized at the national level was a special moment for all of the brothers. Cal Delta has no shortage of leaders within the community. Quinn Toohey '19, Imahn Moshksar '19, and Griffin Rechter '19 are all members of the IFC executive board and Quinn is also the A.S. College of Business representative. We also have two members on the Greek Life Activities executive board and plenty of rising leaders beginning to get involved on campus as well. Our philanthropy event, Sun Cup, occurred in February and went very well. We partnered up with the SigEp chapters at UCSD and USD to put together the fun and successful philanthropy event. Our chapter has also launched the BMP app, making membership development challenges accessible from any smartphone. In this move from paper to electronic, Cal Delta is making the most out of this new era of technological advance- ments. Our executive board's biggest goal is to put us in contention for a Buchanan Cup in 2019, and I believe that we are on track to doing just that. With our consistent awards and successful recruitment seasons, the future of California Delta is extremely bright as we look to continue our dominance at San Diego State University and earn a Buchanan Cup at the next Grand Chapter Conclave.
