In the spring semester, we increased our sense of civic engagement within the community by par- ticipating in several philanthropies of other Greek organizations. We also hosted our annual fundraiser in support of the Sigma Kappa Foundation. This year, the philan- thropy was a self-serve dish buffet, called Alz You Can Eat, hosted at the chap- ter house. We hosted our mother-daughter weekend and welcomed our moms to our home away from home! During this fun- filled weekend, sisters were able to attend a gymnastics meet and paint on the patio with their mothers. We all road tripped down to Orlando for a Magic game for our final sis- terhood event of the semester before going home for the summer. ON-CAMPUS INVOLVEMENT After a successful formal recruitment, we were so excited to welcome over 80 new members to their new home at Sigma Kappa Beta Tau! In September, we traveled to Savannah, Georgia, for our weekend sisterhood sojourn. The women were able to explore Georgia alongside sisters, and indulge in Paula Dean's southern home cooking. In October, we had an exciting Homecoming week paired with the gentle- men of Chi Phi, despite the unfortunate loss to LSU. We also welcomed our families to Gainesville for our annual Family Weekend, where we participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer's and hosted our families at our beautiful chapter house for meals courtesy of Chef Mike. On November 5, we held a joint Founders' Day celebration and Sigma Kappa career workshop. That month we also hosted our annual philanthropic fund- raiser, Sigma Shootout. We are so proud of our sisters here at Beta Tau and all of their accomplishments this year, especially former President Bella Anzalone '14 and Michaela Scotchie '14, who were inducted into Florida Blue Key! THANK YOU, ALUMNAE Our new executive council was elected on November 6. We are looking forward to the rest of 2018, a year sure to be full of growth and success! On behalf of Beta Tau, I would like to thank our alumnae for their continued support and involvement, which contributes to the perpetual growth of our chapter.
