Our oldest volunteer is 92, and she's been there for 40 years. That tells you something about Guide Dogs. 7 What's so special about volunteering at Guide Dogs? We are there for the puppies. That's why we come. It's better than going to a shrink. Seriously, watching them play — they're so innocent — and they're going to grow up to be a guide dog and give a blind person their independence. 8 What's the hardest part about volunteering? There isn't any hard part. 9 When will you "retire?" Thursdays are sacrosanct. My calendar is anchored on Thursday, Guide Dogs day. I'll go unless I'm dead. Then they'll just wrap me up in a newspaper and send me off. 10 It's amazing that you have such dedication It's Guide Dogs that should take the kudos.
