n 2017, Chris Jospe '08 started working on a blockchain project
to build a new voluntary market place to pay for pulling carbon
dioxide from the atmosphere. His company, Nori, won the ConsenSys
backed blockchain for Social Impact Hackathon for the Energy and
Environment section and plans on doing an ICO (Initial Coin Offering)
this summer.
Since getting involved in this space, he has been actively learning about
blockchain and sharing opportunities that came across his plate. When
he learned about Pineapple Fund, a new foundation giving away bit-
coin, he shared it with a colleague who worked at Pencil's of Promise.
Three days after applying, the nonprofit received $1 million in bitcoin!
After a positive response from some other brothers who are learning
about the space, he decided to start a Mu-only Slack group as a virtual
learning community to share knowledge about the technology. Email him
at christophejospe@gmail.com if you are interested in joining.

About Blockchain?
Drew Kostic '08 is featured in the
documentary, Brewmaster, alongside the
likes of Jim Koch (Sam Adams) and Sam
Calagione (Dogfish Head). The film, directed
by Douglas Tirola, claims to be a "love letter
to beer" and began showing in theaters this
spring. More information can be found at

A brother dead and brothers mourning
Fill the heart with grief today,
And the earnest grasp fraternal;
Speaks, "a dear one passed away."
Yes, no longer we shall greet thee
In the halls of DKE,
Yet thy name in sweet remembrance
Graven on our hearts will be.
We have parted, Brother, parted,
As we trust, to meet again,
In a full unbroken circle,
Free from sorrow, grief and pain.

Class of 2008 Update
John and Audrey Wilson's internment on May 31
will be held at 2 p.m. at the Colgate Cemetery at the
top of the Hill. We'd love for brothers to attend and
support Brother Doug Wilson '57 and his
family in remembering John '52,
who did so much for DKE and Colgate.
