he MidSouth Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter closed out 2017 by hitting
our initial goal of 100 members, making us one of the fastest-growing
alumni groups in Sigma Chi.
We kicked off 2018 by hosting our first General Alumni Chapter Meeting
at Heritage Tavern and could not have asked for a better turnout. A
group of brothers spanning six decades came together
to talk through Chapter business, share ideas, and vote
on the budget and the annual report due to Sigma Chi
Headquarters. We also announced that as long as we
stay on course, Sigma Chi Grand Council should vote
to officially charter us later this year.
As we move into 2018, we plan to offer numerous
opportunities to come together as Sigma Chis. We are
discussing a family-friendly outdoor event this spring, several lunches and
social outings, community service opportunities, and more. If you have
ideas or resources that can assist us in hosting Chapter events, we would
love to talk to you.
We need your help to keep this momentum going and to make
sure our brothers are taking advantage of the community being
built. The cost is only $25 per year and you can join by visiting
www.midsouthsigs.com. In addition, we always need help creating
awareness about the Chapter. We are focused on bringing together Sigma
Chi alumni from all over the MidSouth, regardless of undergraduate
chapter. Lastly, we want to encourage you to participate
and volunteer. By attending events, giving feedback, and
being willing to serve, we can do some amazing things
throughout the MidSouth.
