Dear SigEp brothers,
My congratulations to the Florida Epsilon Alumni Volunteer Corporation for embarking on a
bold new venture. The Return to Campus campaign says it all. I am thrilled to hear our chapter
will be moving back closer to the heart of our great campus.
The Greek community is vital to Florida State. Success or failure for fraternities rests squarely
on the shoulders of the undergraduate brothers to recruit new members of character and on the
alumni to provide a solid foundation.
Recent local fraternity activities have led to the death of a young student. This has caused us, at
FSU to pause, refl ect and change. We are implementing new measures that will create a "new
normal" for Greek Life at our University. There must be a new culture for our students and they
must participate in creating that culture.
I am thrilled that Sigma Phi Epsilon is actively participating in helping my administration to
develop the strategy and is willing to lead this very change on campus. As Brian C. Warren Jr.,
the current CEO of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity has recently stated in a memorandum to our
National Fraternity, "Fraternities must change - At our best, we can provide life changing expe-
riences that propel academic success and prepare young men for life after college."
Those of us who enjoyed the brotherhood and camaraderie of Sigma Phi Epsilon will forever
owe a debt of gratitude to the fraternity for that unique experience. This campaign is our oppor-
tunity to build a stronger "New" Fraternity and to repay, in a small way, what SigEp at Florida
State has meant in our lives. This investment in a Chapter House is critical to our long-term
success.
As a Florida Epsilon alumnus myself, I look forward to SigEp's participation in our "new nor-
mal" and the construction on our new house beginning soon. You can expect my full support.
Sincerely,
