SIGMA STAR Spring 2018 sigmaofadpi.com provides our in-home catering, has been great to work with on this project and are very excited to move forward with this, even discussing it as a future for other homes across the country. Leticia Pickens '01, Housing Corporation's financial vice president, spent a lot of time researching and implementing this great program, and we have her to thank! April 29 will be our annual meeting in conjunction with Founder's Day. The board would be nothing short of overjoyed to see some different faces come to our annual meeting! You can come learn about new projects happening at the house, discuss plans, and ask any questions you may have for us! Please consider joining us for brunch (we won't even make you swipe your meal plan card!) and stay for the meeting. Thanks, Anna Miller '08, President • sigma.housingcorp@gmail.com From the Desk of House Corporation President Anna Miller (Continued from page 1) A Note from the Chapter President Sisters, My name is Brittany Kiss and I am the 2018 president of Sigma Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi. I am currently a sophomore double majoring in dietetics and Spanish and minoring in chemistry, on the pre-medical school track. My ultimate goal in life is to make a positive impact on others, so I would like to become a clinical dietitian and develop relationships with patients to really make a difference in their lives. I would then like to attend medical school to further influence others' lives. Though this might be a rather ambitious life plan, I'm someone that truly loves to be busy and dream big. For this reason, I am involved with several other organizations on campus besides ADPi, including IlliniThon Children's Miracle Network Dance Marathon, CHAARG (a women's empowerment health and wellness organization), American Medical Student Association, Student Dietetics Association, and am a barista at Espresso Royale, a coffee shop conveniently located directly across from our chapter house. Of all of my commitments, Alpha Delta Pi is something that I am extremely passionate about. The women I have met through the sorority both in my chapter and outside of it have been without a doubt some of the most amazing people I have ever met. I admire each and every one of them. This fuels my drive to make my mark on our organization one that makes the women around me proud. In my opinion, the best way to do this is to have a clear vision for what I want to accomplish during my time in office. To me, the most important thing about any organization is the wellbeing and satisfaction of its members. Because of this, my plan is to create more opportunities for the women to benefit from the organization through things such as sisterhood, professional development, personal development, and philanthropy, to name a few. My executive committee and I derived plans from this goal to improve the overall morale of the chapter and get the women as involved as we are. I am so incredibly honored to be able to serve these women and this organization. I love Sigma and am consistently humbled and proud to be representing them at an organizational and national level. Having the constant support of my sisters is a feeling that cannot be described, and I am reminded every day (in the corniest way possible) that we truly do live for each other. Love & Violets, Brittany Kiss '16, Chapter President sigma.adpi@gmail.com Sigma of Alpha Delta Pi 2017 Campaign Update Thanks to generous contributions from 54 sisters, we have raised over $5,100 so far.
