RETAILOBSERVER.COM APRIL 2018 64 B y now, you may have noticed that PSAWorld is all new. After a (too) long and sometimes bruising journey, our new website is up and running and we are all still learning the capabilities and features of our new storefront. Even the domain name has changed. It is now: www.psaworld. org... We hope that both our members and those within the appliance service industry will stop by and take a look at this new tool. The new website not only gives PSAWorld a fresh new look, but also gives our association a comprehensive member management system based around a core database. We are now able to automate many membership functions and also provide more member flexibility including providing streamlined access for all members. Memberships that range from 1 man shops all the way up to very large state and national organizations, and your membership can be managed through your office. Along with all of that, we now have software tools for: • Better Communication and Functionality for PSANet, Committees, and others • Dynamic Website Content Management with News and Current Events • Event Planning and Management • Voting for board positions or other key industry questions • E-Commerce • Fundraising • Education • A Mobile App • Web Based Testing and Certification • Online Data Storage and Targeted Search Engine for our Service Library As we move forward, we expect to have more interactive functions for our members, including service and repair videos, on-line training options and webinars, and certification opportunities. As always, we are constantly looking at the industry and features that will be beneficial to PSA members and will add those as we are able. We also would ask both our membership and those within the industry to provide us with their own "wish list" of features. All this and more is coming down the pike. As we at PSA develop our new partnership with NARDA, we anticipate that we will be able to develop new opportunities for our members to grow and prosper from the benefits of this new platform. For instance, we hope to provide a more intuitive and automated CFC test platform, and also improve the process for ordering paper tests, replacement CFC cards and study guides. PSA is also providing the Service Library to all members now, as part of your membership. The membership fee will be raised to $250 annually, effective for 2018 renewals, with access to PSANet for up to 5 members of your company. Additional members can be added in increments of 5 for an additional $50. PSANet is one of the really great features of a PSA membership… as technical support becomes harder and more challenging to access; this tool allows our members to work with each other to address those tough service issues that we all run into. You can rest assured that the odds are that you are not the first person to experience a given issue, and PSA Net allows you to leverage the experience of our membership in developing a repair plan for service issues. Of course, technology continues to move forward! We expect the mobile app to be available soon, and we will be working with our development team to add new features in as they become available. Our goal is to be the best and most complete communication vehicle available for the appliance service professionals that we support, and PSAWorld.org is a great first step- but only the first step. We appreciate your commitments to PSA and the appliance service industry and look forward to bringing you even more benefits as we move forward!
