The national leadership conference provided solid goals for our leaders to accom- plish, and gave us many ideas for how to make phi- lanthropy, member development, and other areas of our chapter even better. We have been recruiting new members, working diligently on academics, and supporting our sisters in outside activities. Last semester, a whopping 29 of our sisters earned a 4.0 GPA! We are incredibly proud of our aca- demic achievements, and we have even moved up in the academic rankings to seventh place. Our philanthropy chairman, Bridget Howard '17, is working tirelessly to put together our upcom- ing fundraiser for St. Jude, Sincerely Yours. Each member will write 50 letters reaching out to people to tell them about St. Jude. We've had great suc- cess in the past with this fundraiser, and we know this year will be no different. We have had the opportunity to participate in con- tinuous open bidding this semester. Our recruit- ment chairman, Cameron Horsely '16, is working tirelessly to add more members to the pledge class this spring. Five of our officers flew to Dallas in February to attend Tri Delta's national leadership conference. It was a great experience and a chance to speak and brainstorm with other Tri Delta chapters. Intramural basketball has been in full swing! Sidney Lawyer '17, our intramural chairman, said, "We had enough ladies sign up to make not just one, but two basketball teams this semester. What has been the most fun is getting to see other Tri Deltas come support their sisters play." As you can see, our members are very busy. We are so excited to accomplish the goals we have for this semester and continue the great legacy Tri Delta has on our campus. Delta Love, Lindsay Albers '15 Chapter President lralbers@ksu.edu "It was amazing to me how my home com- munity came together and did so much for this young child, and we all thought he would win the fight," Haley recalls. "I remember standing in the Manhattan Town Center Mall when my mom called to tell me he passed. I was heartbro- ken because he was only 4. This gave me a deep, personal connection to St. Jude." Haley calls it her "St. Jude moment." It made her a great candidate to become Theta Iota's chair- man of what has been Tri Delta's official national philanthropy since 1999. "I loved serving as the chair," Haley continued, and under her leadership the chapter was able to raise a total of $38,950 during 2017. "Of all the activities and projects that Theta Iota is involved in throughout the year, the commitment to St. Jude is at the top," Alumnae Advisor Susan Continued from page 1 Tri Delta's Devo on to St. Jude Theta Iota Reflects on DDD's Philanthropy Brent Trapp '85 said, summing it all up. "This chapter is so enthusiastic about its relationship with St. Jude, and I am very proud of the deep compassion and dedication they show toward the patients and their families. It truly exemplifies the purposes of Tri Delta." Sidney Lawyer '17, Tia Breckenridge '17, and Loryn Polo '17 at our annual DHOP philanthropy event. We served pancakes, bacon, sausage, and juice to fellow community members and peers for $5. All the proceeds went to St. Jude.
