your outdoor enjoyment. Lincoln Lake is also a nesting home for bald eagles. Rock climbing Sometimes referred to as "little Devil's Den," Lincoln Lake boasts some of the best rock climbing bluffs easily accessible to you. Mountain bike and hiking trails e mountain bike trails at Lincoln Lake consist of two out and back trails with loops at the end of each. ey are well marked and well maintained through the year. e trails are kept mowed and weeded in the summer months. • Spillway Loop — added 0.8 miles to the trail system. Completed in 2012. • Piney Loop — 4 mile out and back loop. To access the trail head go back out to the road, turn right, cross bridge and the trail head is on the right. is trail is rated intermediate for mountain bikes and easy for hikers. e trail follows the lake north and goes by many great rock formations. You will cross the dam where you will get a wide view of the lake and a good place to spot eagles. From the dam the trail enters the woods, turns le from the lake loop and climbs up into a great pine forest. From there the trail loops around back to the main trail for the return trip. • Eagle View Trail — 4 mile out and back with three loops. e trail head starts just behind this sign. Start up hill and follow the markers. is trail is rated intermediate to strenuous for mountain bikers and easy for hikers. Eagle View trail follows an old service road out to Lake View Overlook. From there it heads into the woods and climbs to the Eagle View Overlook. Watch your children as the bluff is fiy feet tall. is is also a great place to spot eagles. To the le of the overlook is the upper loop and to the right is the lower loop. e lower loop has some of the best scenery in the park as it passes under towering bluffs and beautiful rock formations. e lower loop is recommended for experienced mountain bikers as it has some very technical sections. Both loops head back to the main trail for the trip back. • Lake Loop Trail — 4.25 miles. is trail connects the Piney Loop and the Eagle View loops and continues all the way around the lake. e trail can be accessed from the back of either Piney or Eagle View loops. is trail is rated difficult for hikers and difficult for mountain bikes. is trail will access very large rock formations, popular with rock climbers, and remote wooded areas. Moore's Creek will have to be crossed and can be a wet crossing, depending on the season. Bumblebee Park Bumblebee Park was added in 2013 with funds received by the Arkansas Parks and Tourism Fun Park Grant, City of Lincoln funds, city- supported staff resources and an additional grant procured by the Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce to expand the equipment in 2014. e name was chosen by the council aer a submission poll and popularity vote was conducted on Facebook and by paper submissions. e park opened in the first part of 2014 and was expanded that summer to include additional resources. e park features a full basketball court, picnic pavilion, playground equipment and swings. It features a green space for egg hunts, kite flying, and other activities. e grounds were expanded with additional playground equipment and barbecue grills with the second grant. e park has become a great addition to our parks department. Ball Multiplex Park Ball Multiplex Park is located on the north end of town and hosts multiple baseball and soball fields, batting cages, practice areas and is tied to the football and soccer areas of the Lincoln Schools. ere is a bridge that links the field to the school playgrounds and ball fields. Combined with practice football fields and soccer it a very impressive ball complex. Lincoln Town Square and Community Building Formerly the American Legion building, the city acquired the grounds and restored the building as the town community center. It features free wireless Internet and is the hub of the annual Arkansas Apple Festival, Lincoln Rodeo Street Dance, car shows, Christmas and Halloween festivities. Town Garden and Park In 2014, the city decided to begin a community driven garden. Volunteers from the city, school and community have come together to begin a town garden to grow fresh garden produce to better support the town through its local charity organizations. e garden made its first attempt in 2015 and additional growth areas are planned. e garden is in its early stage and will grow and adapt to serve the community in the future.
