Alabama A&M University (AAMU) is Redstone's first university branch. "We are excited to partner with Alabama A&M to open our first branch on a university campus. Our goals with the Schools Program are to build partnerships and relationships with the schools and to advance financial education. It is also an opportunity to find future employees among the students as they experience the working world,'' said Joe Newberry, Redstone's President and CEO. ‡e credit union branch is located in the Ernest L. Knight Center and is staffed by AAMU students. Its manager, Wanda Nance, is an AAMU alumna. Also available is a special AAMU debit card. AAMU family and friends can support the university by using the card that generates income each time it is swiped. Redstone checking account members can request the AAMU debit card at any branch. ‡e university branch handles new account openings, account maintenance and loans. All cash transactions are handled through the Interactive Teller Machine, accessible just outside the branch's door. Branch hours are Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ‡e branch is closed when the university is closed. Redstone opened its first "branch in a school" in September 2017 at Hartselle High School in Hartselle, AL. In addition to working in the branches during the school year, the students also have an opportunity to work during the summer to gain more banking experience, boost their member service skills and earn money.
