Members and merchants are donating items for an Opportunity Raffle to benefit the non-profit Kelly-Griggs House Museum Foundation Restoration Project to be held at the State Theatre for the Arts at 6:30 p.m. Friday,May 7. The Magic of Movies series event will celebrate 40 years of museum tours and share a bit of museum history. Museum- related art and photography will be on exhibit. Tom Hanks will be featured in The Money Pit, set to start at 7 p.m. and rated PG. Admission is $5 and concessions will be open. Los Molinos To Have Big May Day Celebration Los Molinos will have a big celebration next Friday in which several schools will partici- pate. Principal Paul D. Henderson of the Los Molinos Schools has invited the Red Bluff grammar and high schools to participate in the festival. — Daily News, April 23, 1920 During the eight-week program, Cordray com- pleted a variety of training which included class- room study and practical instruction on naval cus- toms, first aid, firefighting, water safety and sur- vival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An empha- sis was also placed on physical fitness. The capstone event of boot camp is "Battle Sta- tions". This exercise gives recruits the skills and confidence they need to succeed in the fleet. "Bat- tle Stations" is designed to galvanize the basic war- rior attributes of sacrifice, dedication, teamwork and endurance in each recruit through the practical application of basic Navy skills and the core values of Honor, Courage and Commitment. Its distinctly ''Navy'' flavor was designed to take into account what it means to be a Sailor. Cordray is a 2005 graduate of Central Valley High School of Shasta Lake. The school is part of the California public school system, providing a viable option for parents to cre- ate a learning environment for their children at home. This is an alternative educational instructional strategy for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by Dec. 2.
