We've seen quite few winter visitors, as well as some of our local residents and some relatives of the Town pioneers. We encourage folks to keep on coming and we will be open with our winter hours of 5 days a week to the last week in March. We'd like to thank the organizers of the Gold Show for including us at the show and allowing us to inform participants about the Museum and the Town. Coming up on February 24th we will be participating in "A Walk in the Past" from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Quartzsite Cemetery. This event is especially fun with local participants role playing some of our pioneers. Don't miss the fun! Tonight, February 21, we are looking forward to the premier showing of a new documentary about Hi Jolly. We participated in the fi lming of this production and look forward to seeing what is billed as a "new look" into the history surrounding our local folk hero. The showing is at QIA at 7 pm and is free. Trivia Question of the Week: Many of you know a little history about our pioneer-artisan Joseph Cone'. His art was done in an unusual way. Our trivia question is: What medium did he work with and what is it used for today? Come by the museum for the answer to the question (no phone calls please). By the way, for the last issue in March we plan to reveal the answers to the questions, in case you missed them. The issues can be seen on-line, if you have left town by then. We have a variety of books and postcards relating to Quartzsite that are for sale. We are continuing to recycle plastic and aluminum, which can be dropped off any time at our front gate collection can. We are a non-profi t historical society. Visiting the Museum is free, al- though donations are always welcome. The Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm and is located at 161 Main Street (park- ing in rear). Donations can be made to Just A Penny Please, Inc. a 501(c)3 non- profi t organization that Cappi started. Tax ID# 46-5344995 Cappi began his journey on Febru- ary 1st in Dana Point, California. Cappi is determined to make a difference in the lives of those who are or have been victims of abuse. On average 20 people per minute are victims of physical violence by an intimate partner in the United States. Many victims will not seek safe shelter because they do not have a place for their beloved pet. The Verde Valley Sanctuary is aiming to end that obstacle at their shelter outside of Sedona Arizona by building a pet friendly option for victims. Cappi aims to support other worthy organizations and shelters across the country on his journey. Just a penny, please...
