Party in the Park planned Celia's Rainbow Gardens Party in the Park set for March 18 By Joanne Winer The annual Party in the Park to celebrate Celia's Rainbow Gardens will be held at the dance pavilion at the park on Sunday, March 18 from starting at noon. There will be a free lunch of burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, coleslaw, macaroni salad, beans, drinks and desserts. There will be a raffl e as well, and donations are welcome to help with the cost of the lunch. The entertainment will include Nick Waite and the Rock't Band who will be starting off the show, followed by Paul Winer and his All Star Sweet Stomp Orchestra. These guys will put on a great show for everyone! Be sure to mark your calendars for this wonderful event and help celebrate Celia's Rainbow Gardens and what it has become in all the years it has been worked on. Several work sessions are be- ing planned, now that all the busy season is winding down. So please come out and help with the Heroes Bell Gardens area that we are hop- ing to get fi nished by next year. We will having a special day set aside for fi rst responders by next spring and are hoping to have this area completed by then so we can have a big celebration to honor those who put their lives on the line for us every day. We are also looking for a couple of guys with grills who can come out to the park that day and cook burgers and hot dogs for us. Let's ALL support this great com- munity event. www.facebook.com/groups/QuartzsiteFarmersMarket/ Farmers Market Tuesdays Nancy's Kitchen OVEN BAKED SPARE-RIBS 2 pounds pork spareribs (serves 4) 1 cup soy sauce 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup ketchup 4 green peppers (diced or sliced) 4 red peppers (diced or sliced) 2 orange peppers (diced or sliced) 2 large Spanish onions (sliced) 1/4 cup ground garlic salt and pepper to taste 3 cups water cornstarch, for thickening In large pot of water, boil ribs until tender. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. 1. In separate saucepan, add soy sauce, 3 cups of water, ketchup, brown sugar. Bring to boil, turn down and add cornstarch to thick- en. 2. In a roaster pan, place drained ribs (slabs) and sauce, then add peppers, onions, spices. 3. Bake covered 20-30 minutes, or until tender. 4. Remove lid towards end of baking. 5. Continually check so ribs don't burn or sauce dries up.
