Pro- duced and edited by fi lmmaker Jus- tin Bouchard, the fi lm is a 2 1/2 hour story that includes vintage photos of Paul's early life and of his long career as Sweet Pie, which spanned over 50 years (started in the 70s) The fi lm talks about his life and what made him what he is today. Justin was able to take the in- terviews with Paul and use his own words to narrate the fi lm, which includes much of his early life and also his life here in Quartzsite. He talks about his poetry, music, and running a bookstore in a little des- ert town where he has found a place that he can be himself and still make a living. He mentions most of his music heroes who infl uenced his style of music (there is no other just like him), the famous people he has met, and some he has worked with over his career. Paul also explains his 68 fi rst amendment court cases that he fought and won. Paul shares how he became Sweet Pie, spending 25 years on the road playing to over a million and a half people up and down the east coast and back and forth across Canada, where he met his wife Joanne. The documentary also includes the history of their daughter Celia, and how Celia's Rainbow Gardens was developed after her death in 1994. This very personal look into Paul's life will give you a much better perspec- tive on who and what he is, and it is a once in a lifetime fi lm that you won't want to miss!! Just a note: this fi lm does contain some nudity and strong language! Advance orders for the fi lm are now being taken at Reader's Oa- sis Bookstore. The cost is $20 per DVD. They should be here by the end of February. But if you are leav- ing here before it comes and wish to make an advance order, Paul will take your phone number and name and mail it to you when it gets here. It will also be available for sale in the store and at his concerts once it is here. They are planning a limited edition, so be sure to get yours pre- ordered if you want to make sure to get one of the fi rst order. too much junk?
