Factory Parts By Joanne Winer Reader's Oasis Bookstore at 690 E. Main Street hosts an Author's Fair every January and February where any author is welcome to set up a table and sell their books at no cost to them for the space. This is so that new authors, especially, will have a chance to see what an authors' fair is and get to know and network with other authors to learn new ideas about writing and marketing their books. It has been a big success over the years, and now that the month is coming to a close, there are only two of the authors left until then. Buddy Hannah, who comes from Northern Arkansas and is a retired Colonel in the Air Force, came for the second year this January. He has added several new books to his series about his Cherokee heritage and ancestors. He started out last year with two books and now has nine for sale, with two more waiting to be printed and up to 30 in the one series coming! He loves to write about his family history--his fi rst series is the Eagle Bear series, and includes Eagle Bear, Eagle Bear meets Buffalo Man, Eagle Right Claw and Eagle Left Claw, and Red Eagle. He will have 30 books in this series when he is done. His second series is called the Rising Sun series, and includes Rising Sun and Giant Warrior, Rising Sun goes to New York, Rising Sun to the Rescue, and Rising Sun goes to Ireland. He also has a spin off called the Cherokee Kid. Buddy is working on a new book in the series during his stay here. Stu Campbell is a familiar face at the bookstore since he has been coming here for at least the last 10 years since the author's fair started. He comes from Greely, Colorado, and his books are about some of his adventures in his various cowboy jobs and other things he has done over his lifetime. He started out with several books that are very humorous, most of them are true short stories that are family friendly (you know what cowboys can be like around the campfi re), and can be read by all ages. These titles include Horsing Around A Lot, Horsing Around the Dudes, Humor Around Horses, You Can't be Serious!, Comedy Around the Corral, More Humor Around Horses, Muddy Waters, and Comedy Around Cowboys. His new series is called A Young Cowboy's Adventures, with the fi rst book having the same title, then Honey, Surprise!, Intrud- ers, Expectations, Frozen, Advice, Broken , and Ginny. His newest books are Wild Horses for Wild Kids, and the Kids Get Horses. He is also work- ing on several more that will soon be in print. Both of these authors would love to have you stop by their tables in front of the bookstore and see what they have labored lots of their time having fun doing--writing books that will pique your imagination and are lots of fun to read and lean from. Both of the authors will also be at the Southwestern Roundup and Art Show at the recreation hall at Mountain Quail RV Park on Feb. 22 and 23 so you can also go there and meet them and check out the books (and the art show too!!!). If you need someone to speak with after Sunday's devastating news, Cenpatico Crisis Line is open 24 hours/day. 1-866-495-6735 Read Desert MESSENGER ONLINE @ www.MyQuartzsite.com Do you love Quartzsite?
