Movies (Tu) At the Devil's Door 329 553 HOLLYWOOD Q&A BY ADAM THOMLISON TV Media Q: I don't recall ever see- ing Doug McKeon, who played the grandson Billy in the movie "On Golden Pond," in any other movies. Did he continue a career as an actor? A: Doug McKeon's doing all right for himself, all things con- sidered — those "things" being the child star curse, basically. He's doing well enough that he just appeared in a pretty high-profile role in an even higher-profile film: The some- what lost and resentful little boy in "On Golden Pond" grew up to become the vice-presi- dent of the United States of America. McKeon's most recent role, in 2016, was playing Hubert H. Humphrey in "LBJ," the Rob Reiner-directed biopic of Lyn- don B. Johnson, which starred Woody Harrelson in the title role. It was McKeon's biggest role in quite a while — perhaps since "On Golden Pond" in 1981. Otherwise, they've been a lot of guest spots on TV and in the occasional big-screen film, some a little less prestigious than "On Golden Pond" or "LBJ." Prior to "LBJ," he had a role in 2015's "I Spit on Your Grave: Vengeance Is Mine," the third installment in the modern slasher-film franchise. He's had an odd little career trend recently, playing a num- ber of religious men on TV. It started in an episode of "House" in 2009, when he played an un- named priest, but in 2013 he re- continued on page T14
