20 – 2018 McDonald County Directory Cemeteries & Funeral Homes Everyone is familiar with the bigger cemeteries in McDonald County, but did you know there are scores of other, smaller, family cemeteries, some of which are still active? You probably know of the Anderson Cemetery at the 59/Business 71 intersection, the Shelt Noel and Noel cemeteries on Route H, the Southwest City Cemetery, Pineville Cemetery, Lanagan Cemetery, Tracy Cemetery out Highway 76, New Bethel Cemetery and the Owsley- Union Chapel Cemetery near Longview. But have you heard of the Elliff Family Cemetery, the Jake Roark Farm Cemetery, Baker Cemetery or the Shambaugh Cemetery? Probably not, but they do exist, along with several others — from most accounts, more than 65 of them in all. Eric and Esther Harris and Ozark Funeral Home provided the county directory with lists they maintained. e lists are different somewhat, with the funeral home having 67 names and the Harris list showing only 59.
