Sara said the menu at Emelia's Mediterranean Kitchen is heart healthy. "Armenians are pretty health conscious," she said. "A traditional Armenian breakfast might be a hard boiled egg, sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, feta and olives That was George's fathers breakfast every day. Our brunch still comes with potatoes, but we add in tabouli, too." Trend setters During it's years of operation Emelia's Mediterranean Kitchen has set a few trends in motion. "Some people thought it was strange to have salad with an omelet, or with Eggs Benedict," Sara said. "Then other restaurants started doing it. It's kind of grown into a culture." While the cuisine served makes Emelia's Mediterranean Kitchen somewhat unique in the Fayetteville area, it's the friendly casual Sara believes that sets them apart. "I don't know whether it's just our restaurant or if it's Fayetteville in general," she said. "You can be talking to one table and someone will ask you a question like, 'Where is so and so' or 'How do you get here or there?' You can turn to the table next to you and say, 'Hey do you know where this is?' Soon there may be three tables talking to each other… just having a conversation over brunch. I've had people who were at tables and had their backs to each other. Suddenly, they are talking to people they had never met and then they were Facebook friends when they left. I've never lived anywhere that happens." Emelia's is very special to Sara and George, as well as their loyal customers. "Emilia's is kind of like our entertainment," Sara said. "George says it's more like a 'hobby' than a business. You get to visit. You get to eat and do all of the things you like to do. It's like going on a vacation without going on a vacation."
