6 Gamma Crescent Brothers enjoy new Changes to Meal Plans and ChaPter house G iven the beautiful weather and the success of the foot- ball team, it has been a very excit- ing fall semester here at Gamma Chapter at Penn State College. With just under 100 active mem- bers, we currently have 40 broth- ers occupying the chapter house. Compared to the costs of dorms and off-campus apartments, the competitive pricing of the house is an attractive advantage. Each brother pays a mere $5,400 each semester to live in the house, which includes a meal plan. In regards to our meal plan, we have transitioned to a new cater- ing service, Campus Cooks. ΑΓΡ is the first chapter at Penn State to contract Campus Cooks, a national fraternity and sorority kitchen management solution. Our lovely new chef, Ashley, provides the broth- ers with delicious meals each day and exhibits an indispensable moth- erly presence within the house. In addition to the new catering service, brothers are also enjoying the newly installed wireless internet. Rather than every bedroom having separate modems, we now have six throughout the house on one net- work. Now alumni and guests have the luxury of high-speed Wi-Fi when they come to visit the house! Fraternally, Patrick Schlupp '15 (Γ1713) VNR Finance CHAPTER SUCCEEDS IN INTRAMURALS G iven the environment of Penn State Greek life, our number one priority at Gamma Chapter is to maintain our recognition and good standing with the university. The university has been suspending houses left and right, so it is our job as Gamma men to rise above this turmoil and be better men. We have been working diligently to com- ply with all the rules and regulations the university is requiring of all fraternities. As many people may know the university has disbanded alcoholic events; however, they allow us to host dry events at our chap- ter houses. At first, many members found this prohibition hard to ac- cept, but as a chapter, we have come together to work to be a part of the solution here at Penn State Greek life—not part of the problem. In other activity news, our IM sports have found success in our fall sports. First and foremost our three-on-three basket- ball team starring brothers Zack Mahler '14 (Γ1679), Brendan Gee '16 (Γ1754), and Mike DiMarino '16 (Γ1745) won the intramural championship. Our Frisbee team was able to make it all the way to the champion- ship game, falling just short of victory. Our softball team also found success making it to the semi-final round. Our chapter continues to strive to achieve Gamma greatness! Fraternally, Michael Doyle '15 (Γ1711) VNR Activities One of the six new modems that provide wireless internet at the chapter house. The new member plan has been changed to a six-week program due to the drastic changes from Greek life at Penn State. The program at Gamma Chapter will still have traditions and rituals even though it is accelerated. Liam Barr Branchburg, N.J.
