3 alpha gamma rho W hen asked to clarify for our alumni "the direction we are headed in Greek life," we would like to summarize our efforts in three goals as an undergraduate executive board. Our three goals are to preserve Alpha Gamma Rho traditional values as stated in our purpose, main- tain brotherhood strength and fellowship within the current brotherhood, as well as future broth- ers with the new recruitment procedures, and educate our current and future brothers on the necessity for increased liability management with the changing times. We cannot include specific rules or regulations in our overarching goals because we are notified of new and changing regulations that we must follow on a weekly basis. In regards to the pres- sures we face with the university, we believe first and foremost that cooperation with our alumni and national organization is essential, in order to manage and challenge when appropriate these pressures as a unit, instead of as separate entities. Regarding our first goal, we want to emphasize that we are here to broaden our educations both through Penn State and Alpha Gamma Rho and, as a result, create better men. This is something that we must not stray from, and we believe that despite the recent changes in Greek life, we have not strayed from this goal. Secondly, we consider it a necessity that our brotherhood must remain as tightly knit as it was in the times before recent changes. We must con- tinue to recruit professional and respectful men to maintain our image. This also means that we must keep a strong connection to alumni from which our entire active brotherhood relies upon. Lastly, it is of intrinsic value that we recognize current changes in liability and risk manage- ment, not only for the chapter house, but also for the entire brotherhood. Our goal is to preserve the values and traditions of Alpha Gamma Rho while emphasizing risk management as appro- priate in this day and age. To do this, we must adapt with the advice of the alumni board to pre- serve the beloved fraternity that we all want to be held to the highest standards—today and in the future. We know there is a tremendous amount of knowledge and wisdom in our alumni ranks, and we ask you to communicate with us, support us, and feel free to give us your advice!
