Born on July 2, 1933, in Sioux City, Iowa, as the first of four girls, she attended Ca- thedral High School in Sioux City for three years and graduated from Vermillion High School in South Dakota. After graduating from college at the age of 20, she ventured to Wyoming to begin her teaching career. Marjorie taught French and English in the Powell, Wyoming, school district for 36 years. During that time, she returned to USD to earn a master's degree and continued teaching until she retired in 1993. S isters, I am thrilled to share with you my ongoing work on two projects. The first pertains to converting pre-1980 scrapbooks into hardcover photobooks. The scrapbooks are in various states of repair and convert- ing them will allow for their archival-quality preservation for future reference. The second project is the compiling of a brief history—ar- ranged by year—for each of the 115 years Ep- silon Chapter has been in existence. I plan to use the scrapbooks (if they are avail- able) and the National newsletters to compile the history. Additionally, I am seeking old Ep- silon newsletters and article clippings, pages from the USD Coyote Yearbook concerning Alpha Xi Delta, or reflections from alumnae about their years with the chapter. More spe- cifically, I am interested in information about awards or honors won by Epsilon members (Miss Dakota, Mortar Board, etc.), chapter awards (National Awards to the chapter or in- dividual sisters), and information about things like Homecoming Floats, Stroller Show, etc. So far, much of the news I have compiled is from years prior to any living alumnae, some of which I have posted on the official Epsilon alumnae page on Facebook. As I reach the '40s, '50s, and into the future, I will try to post some of the information I have collected and get in- put from alumnae to add to it. I hope Epsilon sisters will assist me with these projects by con- necting with me through the alumnae page. Please feel free to send me a Facebook mes- sage or email me with pre-1980 news, photos, memorabilia, or memories. You may also reach me by phone at (605) 280-1195. Thank you, sisters!
