Alpha Xi Delta at the University of South Dakota Epsilon had two chapter advisors and two chapter representatives attend the 2017 Convention in Chicago. Big Year for South Dakota at 2017 Convention I t was a big year for South Dakota as National Executive Director Elysia Gallivan '93, Nation- al President Michele Evink, Epsilon Eta '86, and National Vice President Andrea Fouberg, Epsilon Eta '95 were all from Epsilon and Epsilon Eta chapters. Epsilon had two chapter representa- tives, Macenzie Wood '15 and Kate Kirkebak '17, and two advisors, Annie Miller '10 and Kayla Gengler Schroeder '09, attend the 2017 Convention in Chicago, Illinois. Besides having a blast exploring the city, the women learned about Alpha Xi Delta's new logo rebranding, changes in office structure, how to story-tell our experience, Autism Speaks updates, and were introduced to the new programing guidebook, Inspire. Connections were made with sisters from all around the country. It was also announced that the 2019 Convention will be held in Seattle, Washington. Annie Miller '10 Recipient of Advisor Excellence Award T his past awards season, four chapter advisors were presented with the Ad- visor Excellence Award—an honor granted to chapter advisors who exhibit a high level of professionalism and dedication to the chapter they serve. "…and with humility meet success." Epsilon's chapter advisor, Annie Miller '10, embodies the meaning behind this quote to the fullest. Our chapter has grown immensely over the past few years, and we would not have been able to make that happen without her help. Annie often puts her life on hold for the benefit of our chapter, and that hard work has not gone unnoticed. She has helped chapter women become courageous leaders and gracious sisters; she has supported our individual journeys while giving us the tools we need to function successfully as a unit. Annie is an unyielding form of support; she is the backbone that helps to keep our chapter a hundredfold strong. We are so proud and thankful for her hard work. We cannot think of anyone else more deserving of this award!
